Mountain Pointe baseball has known for a long time that it was playing in a big-time national event.

On Thursday, the Pride found out who they are playing in the first round of the National High School Invitational.

USA Baseball, which is releasing the schedule one game a week with a video presentation, announced Mountain Pointe will take on Bishop Verot (Fla.) in the first round of the NHSI on March 26 in Cary, N.C.

Bishop Verot has averaged 25.7 wins over the last four years and won the 3A state title in 2011. It finished as runner-up in 2012 and lost in the state semifinals last season.
