2 area soccer squads win titles

The Blackhawks Max Shacknai Invitational for youth soccer was played last weekend and two teams with strong Ahwatukee ties came back champions.

The Ahwatukee Foothills Soccer Club (AFSC) 97 Boys White team won the U16 Championship in Division I by shutting down SC Del Sol 97 Boys Colavecchia in the final match 1-0. The CISCO SE U13Girls won first place in its division by outscoring its opponents 12-3 while posting two shutouts in four games. The team practices at Pecos Park and is comprised mainly of Ahwatukee Foothills residents who attend local schools: Altadeña, Al-Akimel, Summit and St. John Bosco.
