Ahwatukee Foothills resident Kaylee Gambadoro gave her verbal commitment to Loyola University Chicago to play soccer for the Lancers' 2013-14 season on a full-ride scholarship.

Gambadoro, a junior at Desert Vista, plays for the Sereno Soccer Club, the state's premier team, for the 95 White team as a defensive midfielder. She is also a three-time starter, representing Arizona in the Olympic Development Program and was a Region IV ODP Camp selection.

Gambadoro, who might play for the Thunder for the first time this winter, was contacted by 18 schools and narrowed her list to San Diego State, Iona, American, Valparaiso, Florida Gulf Coast, and Loyola before making her final decision.
