The high school sports post season has started with the badminton tournament ongoing as team finals are set for Class 5A tomorrow at Phoenix Horizon High and the individual finals are on Saturday at Phoenix Independence High.
Here is a look at the rest of the upcoming schedule for all fall sports:
• Cross country: Sectional meets will be either Friday, Oct. 29 or Saturday, Oct. 30 at various sites with the state tournament taking place Nov. 6 at Cave Creek Golf Course in Phoenix.
• Football: First-round action for Class 5A Division I is Friday, Nov. 11 with the championship game on Monday, Dec. 13 at 8 p.m. at University of Phoenix Stadium.
• Golf: The Division I tournament for girls is Oct. 29 and 30 at Dell Urich Golf Course in Tucson and the Division I tournament for boys is the same weekend, but at Randolph Golf Course in Tucson.
• Swim and Dive: The Division I tournament is Thursday, Nov. 4 and Nov. 6 at the Kino Aquatic Center in Mesa.
• Girls volleyball: The Class 2A tournament is Nov. 4-6 at Tim's Toyota Center in Prescott Valley and the Class 5A Division I tournament begins Tuesday, Nov. 2 and ends Wed., Nov. 10 at Gilbert Mesquite High.
