Norman Dewis, 91, will appear at the Western States Meet, sponsored by the Jaguar Club of Central Arizona (JCCA), March 11-13 in Chandler.

During his 33 years as chief test and development engineer, Dewis became one of the most important figures in the success of Jaguar. Not only did he race at Le Mans and the Mille Miglia (and set speed records), he tested every Jaguar model from late development of the XK 120 in 1952 through the early testing of the 1988-1994 XJ6 that was being developed when he retired in 1985.

Dewis will be signing copies of his book: “Norman Dewis of Jaguar: Developing the Legend” and providing autographs during the Sunday, March 11, Concours d’Elegance from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the A. J. Chandler Park, 3 S. Arizona Ave. in Chandler.

He will be participating in the Western States Rally/Tour, a 75-mile trip on Monday, March 12 at 9 a.m., starting at the San Marcos Hotel, One San Marcos Place, Chandler.

And Dewis will be at the Western States Slalom on Tuesday, March 13 at Chandler’s Hamilton High School, 3700 S. Arizona Ave. The Slalom begins at 9 a.m. and goes until 2 p.m.
