Six local 13U club baseball teams announced recently that they will compete in the Ahwatukee Baseball Fest Nov. 24-25 at Mountain Vista Park in Ahwatukee Foothills.

Club SPAWN, Ahwatukee Devils Black and Maroon, FBL All-Stars, and Arizona DASH 13U and 12U will each play five games over the weekend.

All of the teams are from Ahwatukee except for Arizona DASH. It is open to the public and free of charge.

The focus of the event is not on winning, but rather building friendships and having fun. Local high school teenagers have been hired to umpire the games. Parents and kids will enjoy food together after the second game on Saturday.

There are other fun competitions (home run derby, throwing, base running) on Sunday.

There will be five blocks of games, for a total of 15, with action on Saturday scheduled for 9 a.m., 10:45 a.m. and 1:45 p.m. Action resumes on Sunday at 9 a.m. and 10:45 a.m.
