More than 100 of the world's top power-hitting high school players will be at Chase Field Dec. 27-29.

This year's event consists of Pro-Scout Day, the power showcase home run derby, and the inaugural Purity & Power Generation All-World & All-American Baseball Classic.

Pro scout day is Dec. 29. The Power Showcase will take place Dec. 27.

Sokol weighing options

Former Desert Vista quarterback Cody Sokol recently visited Arizona and Iowa as the Scottsdale Community College sophomore is reaping the benefits of a fantastic season.

He led the Western States Football League with 3,807 passing yards and 43 touchdowns as a sophomore this fall.

Other schools that have shown interest are Cincinnati and Florida International.
