The Ahwatukee Ravens, a tackle football team of local 7 to 9 year olds completed its undefeated season with a win over the Chandler Rattlers, 19-6.
The Ravens outscored their opponents this year by a margin of 274 to12. They played well on both sides of the ball, only giving up two touchdowns in eight regular season games and two playoff games.
Head coach Ken Haas summarized the Ravens' success: "The coaches were most proud that every player improved from day one and contributed to the team," he said. "Our players were enthusiastic and focused, and that translated into victories."
The Ravens' fundraising effort generated more than $4,000 for league dues, uniform expenses and gear for the players.
