Longtime Mountain Pointe Athletic Director Ian Moses announced recently that he was no longer going to be the athletic director at the Ahwatukee high school.

He is heading to Tempe High where he will take over the role of activities director.

Mountain Pointe Principal Bruce Kipper said he recommended Goodyear Millennium Athletic Director Brian Winter as Moses’ replacement. Winter was the Higley boys basketball coach in the early part of the 2000s before departing for Oregon. He came back and was the AD at Maricopa for a year before taking over at Millennium.

Moses’ tenure will not be forgotten anytime soon.

“He’s an institution,” Kipper said.
