The Notre Dame Women’s Golf Team, in conjunction with Longbow Golf Club and Visit Mesa, will host the 2013 Notre Dame Clover Cup, a 54-hole women’s collegiate invitational golf tournament featuring 16 teams to be contested March 8-10.

Scottsdale native and current freshman on the Notre Dame Women’s Golf Team, Lindsey Weaver, will be competing in the event. She currently ranks seventh (as of 2-27) in the individual Golfweek/Sagarin Rankings. Last year in April, Weaver earned top honors at the Winn Grips Heather Farr Classic at Longbow. Along the way to victory, she broke the women’s course record with a 7-under-par 64. And two months before that she went even lower, firing a 59 during a PING Junior Interclub match at Desert Mountain.

The current No. 1 player in the nation, Kimberly Kaufman, will also be in the field accompanied by her team, the 13th ranked Texas Tech Red Raiders.

Admission is free; spectators are encouraged to stop by to support their favorite teams. Plus, the schedule of events includes a College-Am tournament for those weekend warriors who would like the opportunity to play alongside a collegiate player.
