The Valley Christian baseball team was given the honor of being recent guests of the Arizona Diamondbacks as the Trojans took to the field prior to the start of the game for winning the Class 2A state title.

Valley's baseball team compiled a 25-5 record this year going all the way to the state finals and winning its first baseball state championship in school history defeating Scottsdale Christian 8-7 in the championship game.

The team set a 2A state record for home runs with 55. Ryan Cooper was named 2A state player of the year and received first team all-state honors along with Tyler Hunt. The 2A Metro West all-league honors went to Cooper and Hunt, along with Ahwatukee Foothills residents Will Lane and Jeff Paschke, while coach Rick Surls received 2A Coach of the Year honors.
