Ahwatukee resident and Cesar Chavez senior Chandler Hovik and Arredondo were chosen as Valley of the Sun Chapter "TOP 50" Football Scholar Athlete - Class of 2012, representing over 234,000 students, from 183 high schools in central and northern Arizona.
They receive a nominal one-time scholarship, applicable toward tuition.
They will be recognized and honored at the 31st Annual National Football Federation Awards Banquet at the Scottsdale Plaza Resort on Saturday, March 3.
