Mountain Pointe right-hander Jordan Kipper was selected by the Los Angeles Dodgers. Kipper had the walk-off game-winning hit in the 5A Division I championship game against Hamilton.

Kipper is slated to go to Central Arizona in the fall.

Desert Vista shortstop Casey Thomas was selected by Dodgers in the 41st round. Thomas was one of the best defensive shortstops in the East Valley last season, and his offense improved.

At the end of the season, according to coach Stan Luketich, Thomas had not signed with anyone of the JC colleges yet, but was expected to soon thereafter.

Louisville catcher J.J. Ethel was picked up by the Dodgers in the 49th round. Ethel played for Mountain Pointe and Scottsdale Community College.

Ethel made 47 starts and played in 53 games as a senior hitting .251 with 12 doubles, 16 RBI and 15 runs scored.
