Wrestling: DV finishes seventh at Peoria Invite

The Desert Vista wrestling team was unable to defend its title at the the Peoria Invitational.

The always difficult two-day event was won by Sunnyside with 264 points, followed by Cimarron Memorial and Gila Ridge with 145.5 points each. Basha and Cesar Chavez were next with 140 and 125 points respectively.

The Thunder had five placers and 116.5 points after Saturday night's action.

Alex Bambic (182) took second, Brian Mitchell (113) was fourth, while Tristan Ezell (195) and Mitchell White (170) were fifth. Adam Ortega took sixth at heavyweight.
