The Mountain Pointe girls volleyball season came to an end Thursday at the hands of the state's top-seeded team.

But not before the Pride give Mountain Ridge a test in Glendale.

Eighth-seeded Mountain Pointe won the first game and came close in the next two but came up short, 20-25, 25-20, 25-22, 25-8, in the Division I state quarterfinals.

Division IV

Horizon Honors, the fourth-seed in Division IV state tournament, advanced with a 25-20, 25-21, 25-22 victory over No. 13 Red Mesa in the first round.

The Eagles advance to play No. 5 Sedona Red Rock at 4 p.m. Friday at Tim's Toyota Center in Prescott.
