Desert Vista football has added its third televised game of the season to its schedule.

The Thunder's Oct. 31 game at Tempe Corona del Sol will be seen on CBS College Sports as part of the network's eight-game slate, "MaxPreps High School Football presented by Burger King," according to a release from CBS.

"That's good, man," said DV coach Dan Hinds. "It's exciting."

Kickoff will be moved to 6 p.m. to accommodate the broadcast.

"This is a fantastic opportunity for our kids to get some exposure against a great team like Corona on Halloween night over at their place, especially because they are the defending Central Region champions," said DV athletic director Jim Bell.

Corona won last year's game between the two schools, 35-32 in overtime. That game saw four lead changes, two ties and a five-yard touchdown pass in overtime that clinched the Central Region for the Aztecs.

"I think we owe them one," Bell said. "That game last year was one of the best football games, just as a football fan, that I've witnessed."

DV's game at Peoria Centennial Oct. 2 will be shown on Cox 7, and the annual Ahwatukee Bowl matchup between the Thunder and Mountain Pointe is slated to be shown on ESPNU Nov. 7.

"Having our kids be on TV three different times this year, not only locally, but nationally, I think that's going to bring some good attention to our kids and our coaching staff and our school and community," Bell said. "I think it's going to be awesome."
