Robert, right, took advantge of the Toronto drinking age of 19 to buy a beer for his father, Zig, in 2008.
Ahwatukee Foothills residents Zig, left, and Robert Bircz recently completed a goal - one that took 11 years to complete - to see a baseball game in every major league city.
The Birczs have documented their baseball trips with push pins in Zig Bircz's office in their Ahwatukee Foothills home. When they return home this weekend they will finish marking off the last five ballparks they visited along the southern United States.
During their travels, the Bircz often took stadium tours as well allowing for access to all areas of ballpark like the Nationals Park in Washington, D.C., where they found a broken bat.
The Birczs have been to some ballparks - like Shea Stadium in New York - that no longer are in use so there will be chances for future trips.
Zig and Robert Bircz made sure to get at least one ball at all 30 ballparks they visited over the years, but got many more during batting practice, especially at Chase Field, and have them displayed in their Ahwatukee Foothills home.
Republican Presidential candidates Ron Paul, Rick Santorum, Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich square off in the GOP debate inside the Mesa Arts Center, Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2012.
