Cody McManus made one last impression before heading off to Pepperdine.

The recent Desert Vista graduate finished second at the PING Phoenix Junior, which finished up Thursday and was played at ASU Karsten Golf Course.

McManus shot a 2-under 208 and tied with Dean Sakata of Diamond Bar, Calif., as they finished one stroke behind Blake Barens of Villa Park, Calif.

There were 57 boys in the field in the 54-hole stroke play competition on the par-70, 6,858-yard course.

McManus, who will continue his career at Pepperdine this fall, was a co-leader after the first round.

He shot 67 on the first day, followed up with a 69 and finished with a 72.
