Desert Vista graduate Zach Miller has been ahead of peers all along the way.

So it comes as no surprise the Desert Vista product became the first Ahwatukee high school product to play in and win a Super Bowl ring.

Miller and the Seattle Seahawks pounded the Denver Broncos on Sunday 43-8 in Super Bowl XLVIII at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J.

Miller, who was the nation’s No. 1 ranked tight end coming out of high school when he chose Arizona State, finished with one catch for 10 yards, but was on the field on nearly all of the Seahawks, who won the first Super Bowl in franchise history, touchdown drives.
