Katie Olsen had a historic swimming career.

The Desert Vista product holds the state record for the 100-yard breaststroke after she nearly went sub 1 minute as she clocked a 1:00.68 as a junior.

But her career is hardly defined by that one event.

She owns three other individual state swimming titles, has posted Olympic qualifying times in the breaststroke, is a member of the USA National youth team and is off to Stanford to continue her career in the pool.

The Ahwatukee Foothills News' Female Senior Athlete of the Year has a fresh start in Palo Alto, Calif., but before she takes off she took some time to answer some questions about her career and future.
