After all of the position changes, injuries, surgeries and wading through four rounds of the NFL Draft, Devon Kennard saw his professional dreams begin.

The Desert Vista graduate and USC linebacker was taken 174th overall in Saturday's fifth round by New York Giants.

"NEW YORK GIANTS!!!,!" Kennard tweeted shortly after being selected. "TO GOD BE THE GLORY."

The 22-year-old is a physical specimen at 6-foot-3 and 249 pounds who has shown an ability to play all over the defensive front.

During his time at USC, which was finished with a second-team All-Pac-12 selection, he played defensive end, inside linebacker and outside linebacker.

Some questioned his explosiveness and short arms, but his leadership, makeup, intelligence, tackling and drop into coverage were the positives.
