Girls tennis: DV remains defeated after beating rival MP

The Desert Vista Girls Tennis Team traveled across Ahwatukee to face rival Mountain Pointe.

The DV girls continued their undefeated season by beating a strong Mountain Pointe team with a score of 6-3.

At No. 1 1 singles, junior Melissa Kahn beat Viaan Pham 6-1, 6-1, at No. 2 singles, junior Yolena Carlon beat Carla Poplowski 6-0, 6-2, at No. 3 singles senior Tori Kammerzel beat Rachel Mantlik 7-5, 6-1/

At No. 5 singles freshman Sarah Tamburro beat Nila Sharma 7-5, 7-5.

Mountain Pointe won at No. 4 singles, with Larae Keso beating junior Ann Carsey with a score of 6-3, 6-1.

Mountain Pointe also won a nail biter at #6 singles, with Jessica Fong beating sophomore Mikayla Mularoni with a score of 6-2, 2-6, 10-7.

In varsity doubles, the No. 1 team of Carlon and Kammerzel won with a score of 8-6 and the No. 2 doubles team of Kahn and Mularoni won 8-0.

Both teams will play in the Tempe All City tournament at Corona on Friday and Saturday.
