Mountain Pointe athletic department is starting a sports hall of fame as the school approaches its 20th year.

The initial class was set already, but with the death of Sally Meyerhoff room was made for one more, according to Pride athletic director Ian Moses.

The ceremony will take place during homecoming next fall and Meyerhoff will bring the total to eight.

Joining Meyerhoff, who is an Olympian marathon hopeful that was killed last week when struck by a pick-up truck while training on her bike, will be Karl Keifer, Harold Slemmer, Karen Jacobsen, Sara Gorton-Slattery, Nicole Powell, Reid Priddy and Brad Evans.
