In 2004, I received my doctorate in American Studies. Upon graduation, I moved to Arizona for job opportunities and the warm climate. Six months after my move, I noticed a series of Rio Salado Community College advertisements regarding alternative paths to certification.
Although it certainly doesn’t feel like fall, the calendar reminds us that summer is officially over. As a result, family members of all ages may find they are spending more time in the car as they ease back into their normal routine.

Cheerleader is a domestic short-haired brown Tabby, about 2 1/2 years old. She finds ways to entertain herself while at adoption day by rolling around in her kennel … trying to get the attention of a nice person to adopt her and bring her home. Cheerleader gets along with most cats but she can be on the dominant side. It probably will take her some time to warm up and feel comfortable in her new home, but once she decides you’re OK and not so scary, she’s a real charmer.
