Local Ahwatukee and Tempe residents Sherry Finzer and Darin Mahoney will be releasing their first duo CD, “Transformation,” on Aug. 1.
Each year, the Phoenix Regional Sports Commission (PRSC) offers Valley residents and visitors the chance to purchase one of its “Golden Tickets.” For one lucky raffle winner, this means he or she will receive two season tickets to nearly every major sporting event that takes place in the Phoenix metropolitan area during the year, starting in August.
Learn about the dragonflies, butterflies and damselflies that make their home at Veterans Oasis Park during this guided walk through the wetland habitat. Coloring books and guidebooks will be available for an additional charge. The walk begins at the Red-tailed Hawk Pavilion.

Ahwatukee resident Sara Elizabeth Matsumoto was named to the dean’s list for the spring semester at Washington University in St. Louis. Matsumoto is enrolled in the university’s College of Arts and Sciences. To qualify, students must earn a semester GPA of 3.6 or above and be enrolled in at least 14 graded units. Washington University is counted among the world’s leaders in teaching and research, and it draws students and faculty to St. Louis from all 50 states and more than 120 nations. The total student body is more than 14,000 undergraduate, graduate and professional students.
