More than 20 Desert Vista High School students studying Spanish are getting the ultimate experience in their choice of second language, with an immersion program that sends them to Spain for three weeks.
Mark Pettibone, a resident of Ahwatukee, has earned placement on Gonzaga University’s president’s list for spring semester 2013. Students must earn a 3.7 to 4.0 GPA to be listed. Gonzaga University is a humanistic, private Catholic University providing a Jesuit education to more than 7,500 students.

I am a Boy Scout in Troop 16 and I would like to express my concerns about our government cutting school funding. I also sent a letter to Sen. John McCain because I did not want him to vote yes to the proposed cut in education funding by 20 percent. I did not receive any response from the senator, but I think it is a very bad idea to reduce spending on education.
