Director Sue Nelson poses with students from Family of Christ Learning Center on Thursday, March 6, 2014.
Family of Christ Learning Center has been part of the Ahwatukee community for more than 20 years, keeping students its focal point.
Enrollment is open to children from 2 years old to kindergarten, and the school currently houses nearly 142 students.
Director Sue Nelson has been with the school for more than 10 years and said the center has created an atmosphere geared toward “love for learning.”
“We incorporate a lot of fun in the learning aspect,” Nelson said. “People say to me that there’s something different here, and it’s because of the love we have for the kids.”
The longevity of the teaching staff also speaks volumes for the school, she added.
There are currently 21 teachers working at the school.
