I have never been one to be heavily involved in politics - running a small business and raising three kids doesn't leave a lot of time to spare. But even when I do engage, I often find myself irritated by the self-serving rhetoric that comes from the candidates.

Yoasis recently hosted a meet and greet with Greg Stanton, candidate for mayor of Phoenix, and I am glad to say that I didn't find my normal frustration with the political process. Stanton was honest and genuine when answering my questions, and the questions of dozens of my neighbors. He actively listened and engaged with everyone from a 4-year-old to senior citizens, and even stayed late to talk to a student reporter from Desert Vista High School.

This event highlighted the sense of community that Yoasis has strived to create in our commitment to building a stronger Ahwatukee Foothills.

So thank you, Greg, for reaching out to our community, and listening to our concerns - it was refreshing and reassuring. I hope you stop in for some more "Greg Stanton Strawberry" soon.
