There are so many points to deny the Gee/Pulte proposal as stated by many Ahwatukee homeowners in the AFN and by Save the Lakes: traffic increase, pollution increase, lack of open space, lack of storm drainage, lack of good golf courses — revenue/jobs, negative property values...

BUT, let’s consider the hidden costs which homeowners may incur.

First, the city of Phoenix is going to increase our water rate usage anyway. BUT an additional 250 homes may do this, plus sewer usage fees and taxes will increase (we are all on the same system). Sewage pump facility will need to be expanded — more poop, more money, more taxes (even if Gee/Pulte pays for expansion, we get the monthly usage fees, plus taxes).

Second, the Phoenix police here in Ahwatukee will be diverted to those areas which may need more assistance. Crime here in Ahwatukee? Not yet?

Third, education is a wonderful thing! How can the Kyrene School District pay for the additional students? More taxes or charitable donations?

Fourth, how many more golf courses in our area will be annihilated for Gee/Pulte?

Think about it. Hey ABM (Ahwatukee Board of Management), we hope your golf balls are not in your wallet!
