Congressman David Schweikert has always looked out for his constituents, but I have to wonder who was advising him on his horrible dollar coin idea.

Replacing the dollar bill with the dollar coin will not result in more dollar coins, it will only result in more $2 bills. Dollar coins are not popular. They are not used now, and won't be used in the future. Getting Americans to change their behavior on this is a fools errand.

I appreciate our congressman thinking outside the box on this, but maybe he can think of something that doesn't so drastically change our way of life.
