You know, I thought that this year was 2014, but after scanning the Washington happenings I have found that we are in 1984.
We have had the use of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to punish Obama’s enemies, we have seen the use of the National Security Agency (NSA) questioned in America. Many feel that NSA surveillance is an intrusion of their privacy. Surveillance can be used to detect people using Islamaphobia, in order to prosecute them in an international court, where the Constitution will not be available to protect them. It can also be used to find critics of Obama, in order to punish them.
But wait, there is more!
Obama has decided to use the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), also. He has come up with a study known as the “Multi-Market Study of Critical Information Needs,” or CIN. CIN defines eight areas of public interest, such as economics and the environment, and grades newsrooms on how well they cover each subject. Remember all public TV broadcasters must be recertified by the FCC every eight years and CIN is clearly intended as a benchmark for approval (“approval” means that the broadcasters better print, or say things that agree with the president). It seems to be a way to eliminate Fox News from the airways. The plan is for the FCC to interview reporters, editors, and station owners about how they make news decisions.
The CIN report makes clear that it covers the print media, as well. One critic mentions that the FCC is packed with left-wing extremists. An example would be Chief Diversity Officer Mark Lloyd. He apparently thinks that white people are a problem to be excised in the FCC regulated media. Also, Mr. Lloyd hailed the late Venezuelan dictator Hugo Chavez for “his incredible democratic revolution.”
There are many more issues with this president, buy I can’t fill the whole paper up. Using the power of the government to punish Obama’s enemies are illegal, but it will take the Supreme Court to curtail him.
It seems like 1984 to me.
