I consider the investors who came into our wonderful community and bought up all of our golf courses to be no better than slumlords when it comes to the Lakes Golf Course. I’m sure all along their plans were to shut it down and build homes on it. And now we are seeing acres and acres of blight and barb-wire fencing degrading an area that once was beautiful with lakes, green grass and healthy trees. They have not only lowered the property values in the surrounding areas, but their ugly fence has forced high schools students to walk in the street.

Hopefully, the city will stay on them to remove the illegal barb-wire fence, and to force them to erect its legal replacement away from the curb so pedestrians have a walkway. I wish every moment of every day a buyer will come along and return its previous beauty.
