Last Tuesday, Citizens for a Better Arizona delivered more than 18,000 signatures to the secretary of state from voters in Legislative District 18 demanding that State Senate President Russell Pearce be recalled. Pearce reacted by calling those who are leading the recall, as well as his constituents who signed the petition, "far left-wing anarchists."

This could not be further from the truth. At the Citizens for a Better Arizona planning meeting in Mesa on Saturday participants included Republicans, Democrats and Independents, whites, blacks and Hispanics, Catholics, Protestants, Mormons and Jews; the very same demographic as the voters in his district who signed the recall petition.

His constituents in Legislative District 18, as well as citizens throughout the state, know that Pearce is too extreme for Arizona. They can no longer tolerate his myopic focus on illegal immigration, while short-changing education, health care and job creation. They are tired of his ridiculous legislation focusing on Tea Party license plates and guns on university campuses, rather than dealing with the serious problems facing our state.

It is time for Pearce and his supporters to address the concerns of those who want him recalled, rather than just resorting to name calling.

afnanalog, this is Fred Barlam the guy who you said probably pays no income taxes and is part of the ugly mooching class. According to the Ahwatukee Chamber of Commerce website
(http://www.ahwatukeechamber.com/ahwatukee), "Our 35.8 square-mile village currently has a population of approximately 88,500 residents. The average household income is $96,700." For the 7 years that I have lived in Ahwatukee, the Barlam family income has substantially exceeded that average household income each year. You know what they say about people who ASSUME![smile]

In my opinion, Fred is definitely a "far left-wing anarchist"... just look over all the nonsense he writes. He's probably also a member of that 47% of the population who pay no income taxes.... a member of the ugly mooching class[innocent]
