I nearly fell out of my chair laughing this morning when I read the headlines that Pulte was offering a $1 million incentive for the other golf course. Pulte doesn‘t have a clue. It’s not just about the golf! It’s about the open space. That’s what we want to preserve in Ahwatukee. We don’t have enough, and if we build 200-300 homes near Warner and 44th Street, that is not creating more open space!

The majority of us do not play golf, but we enjoy the “park-like” feel that the golf course and lake creates as we drive down 44th and 48th streets. We want the homeowners that live along there to continue to enjoy their golf and keep their investment.

I can’t imagine another 200-500 cars pouring onto 44th and 48th streets every morning to add with the congestion we already have each morning with our high-schoolers arriving to school and all the buses heading to our elementary schools. Pulte sure hasn’t done its homework. We don’t need more cars and homes. Our freeway is already overloaded and backed up. Please join me voting no to change the CC&Rs. Let’s wait for another golf course developer to step forward and work with the city or parks department to preserve it.
