By Susan Stamper-Brown’s reasoning (“The futility of gun control,” AFN, Aug. 3), we should do away with traffic controls.
They don’t work because there are too many bad drivers out they’re ignoring stop lights and speed limits, anyway. Let’s make it a free-for-all and see if the “good” drivers can pick off the bad ones before they get us.
She’s right about one thing, though. If everyone in the (Aurora. Colo.) theater had been packing heat, as she put it, the story would have ended differently.
The killer may have been taken out; but how many more would have died in a mayhem of indiscriminate gunfire in a dark theater filled with tear gas?
