At a recent fundraiser in San Francisco, President Obama demonstrated his command of the great issues facing our country.

The comments are posted on the White House press release website, dated April 4, and entitled, “Remarks by the President at a DCCC Event — San Francisco, CA.”

About half-way through his remarks we find this nugget of brilliance: “I just came from Denver, where the issue of gun violence is something that has haunted families for way too long, and it is possible for us to create common-sense gun safety measures that respect the traditions of gun ownership in this country and hunters and sportsmen, but also make sure that we don’t have another 20 children in a classroom gunned down by a semiautomatic weapon.” (By a fully automatic weapon in that case, sadly).

Which was it? Semi-automatic or fully-automatic?

What does it say about the occupant of the office, when the Commander in Chief of the country’s armed forces doesn’t know the difference?

Wouldn’t it be just too bad for all Americans if he thought he was banning fully-automatic weapons, when in reality he’s banning semi-automatic weapons?
