I nearly ran over a good-sized turtle last week in the middle of 44th Street in front of the clubhouse of the closed Ahwatukee Lakes Golf Club. Despite all of the assurances, this turtle was escaping the slow destruction of the course and draining of the lakes. It is the efforts of Pulte Homes to make the place look so physically bad and unattractive that homeowners will feel resigned and agree to the deed change.

As a resident of another golf course in Ahwatukee owned by the same developer, I fully support homeowners abutting the Lakes Golf Course in standing tall and refusing to succumb to such subterfuge.
