Which side is DiCiccio on?

Dear Editor:

Does Sal DiCiccio have a conflict of interest on the proposed South Mountain Loop 202?

He is a developer with a relationship with the Gila River Indian Community to build commercial enterprises south of the intersection of Pecos Road and 40th Street. Now has he had full disclosure on this issue with the public?

Why does DiCiccio want to establish another team to look at this issue that has been on the table for over seven years?

What about the role and responsibilities of the Village Planning Community and the South Mountain Citizens Advisory Team? What does he expect to accomplish except to get his name in print for the upcoming run-off election.

There have been scores of articles written on this issue and a number of them have suggested alternative options to the Pecos Road option. Is this just another PR ploy by DiCiccio to get his name in the paper?

I wish he had the back bone that our former Councilmember Greg Stanton did, who stated “over my dead body,” but DiCiccio commented at the coffee chat at Nello’s on June 27, 2009 that the “freeway is likely.”

Which side of the road is DiCiccio on ?

Jim Jochim
