Dear Editor:

I have no idea who Alan Tindale is. I have never heard of him, but he begins his letter ("Don't tread on me!" AFN, Dec. 29): "Most liberals say even after the election that we need national health care, free child care, free speech therapy, etc." and it goes on and on.

I do not know who appointed Mr. Tindale spokesman for liberals, but I am a liberal and he does not speak for me. Has he ever met a liberal? I am a military retiree and a patriot, as well as a liberal. I believe his letter is filled with generalities and is factually inaccurate. He can pontificate as much as he wishes, after all this is America. Just do not attribute erroneous views to liberalism.
