Dear Editor:

We, the staff of Children of Hope Child Development Center, would like to thank all of the families who have supported our preschool's fundraising efforts towards a fire sprinkler system on our campus at Esperanza Lutheran Church. In accordance with city fire code, we were required by the city of Phoenix to install a fire suppressant system throughout the buildings the preschoolers occupy. We were daunted by the tremendous expense and, as a non-profit Christian preschool; we had no funding to this magnitude and were unsure if we would be able to raise the necessary funds. However, with deepest thanks to the wonderful families of the preschool and the congregation who attended our various fundraisers, to those who made contributions and with the help of a grant from Lutheran Mission Investment Fund, we can happily report that we now have the necessary funds to complete the project! Excavation and sprinkler installation is due to begin in October.

We are so grateful to our families and look forward to serving the children of Ahwatukee for many years to come, under the safety of our newly installed fire sprinkler system.

Esperanza Lutheran Church Staff
