Now that the legislative session for this year has (mercifully) ended, it would be a good time to see what our District 20 senator and representatives did with their votes on public education.

The Arizona Education Network (AEN), a Tucson-based, non-partisan coalition, exists to provide factual, relevant and up-to-date information as it pertains to public education in our state. AEN provides parents, students, businesses and community members with accurate information and the resources to enable them to take action on behalf of Arizona students.

According to AEN, all three of our LD 20 legislators, Sen. John McComish and Representatives Jeff Dial and Bob Robson, voted against public education 100 percent of the time this year. You can visit their website at www.arizonaeducationnetwork.com to view the methodology used to reach that conclusion and to view the votes of all state legislators.

LD 20 voters/taxpayers are justifiably proud of our public schools. If it alarms you at all that our legislators are voting the way they are against those schools, take a few minutes to call or write, and let them know you support public education students and school employees.
