Who do we thank for this pathetic 522 Express Bus schedule?
As you will see 540 Express Bus riders (eliminated effective July 23) in the Ahwatukee area, there are only two inbound and two outbound trips that will service Ahwatukee residents. But look closely at the new schedule. If you need to be to work by 6:30 a.m. or 7 a.m. (which many do) the first inbound at 6:33 a.m. will not get you to downtown until after 7 a.m., and the same with the second inbound at 6:45 a.m. But the real kicker is the outbound trips. Say you get off at 3:30 p.m., 4 p.m., 4:30 p.m., you will have to wait up to 1 1/2 hours to catch the first outbound at 4:46 p.m. Seriously? And if you get off at 5 p.m., well good luck trying to get to the bus stop before the last outbound at 5:01 p.m. So what it boils down to for most is the 522 Express Bus is useless to Ahwatukee residents.
I cannot believe that our elected representative Phoenix Councilman Sal DiCiccio let this get by him. Nor can I believe that those who put this schedule together ever considered the needs of the riders.
And for the record, please Joe Bowar from the city of Phoenix, do not respond to me, your words are empty much like the attitude you gave many of us at meetings.
