Last May, our LD 18 legislators acted like Republicans. I guess I should say they acted to represent the Republican Party that I grew up with. I grew up with John Rhodes, Paul Fannin, Barry Goldwater and Sandra Day O’Connor, to name a few, leading the Republican Party. Sen. John McComish, Rep. Bob Robson and Rep. Jeff Dial represented us by voting to support our Kyrene School District. These education votes directly and positively affect our property values. Charter school choice aside, strong neighborhood schools directly affect whether or not our personal property is valued or not.
These LD 18 legislators have truly supported Kyrene. Thank you! A big “thank you” must also be said for their support for Arizona. Like true members of their party, they supported their (our) governor, the leader of the Republican Party in Arizona. It is easy for many candidates to accept the political “pop culture” paradigm. A paradigm where the leader of the Maricopa Republican Party wrongly invoked the Bible to support his personal philosophy and then recruits pseudo conservatives to replace those legislators who may not worship him. Sen. McComish, Rep. Robson and Rep. Dial voted to follow the rule of law that the Arizona voters have already passed. It is sad when it takes courage to follow your own state’s constitution, listen to your constituents, and do what is right. It is sad when pretend candidates are produced in primaries to distract voters.
