Year after year it's the same old conundrum. Kids want cool clothes to wear back to school. But parents are still feeling the effects of the recession.

Goodwill in Ahwatukee Foothills, 15633 S. 32nd St., has several popular brands that kids will like at a price parents can be happy with.

"I think people are just really being cautious and careful in every purchase they make nowadays," said Jackie Halleen, vice president of regional operations.

She noted that the donations they receive in the Ahwatukee store are of great quality.

"With kids' stuff it tends to stay pretty trendy because kids do grow so quickly," Halleen said. "Three months later you're replacing it because they've already grown an inch."

Kids' shirts start at $1.99 and pants start at $3.99, but there are even ways to find the clothes on sale. Every day items of a certain tag color or number are 50 percent off, and on Thursdays those items are $1. Also every other Saturday everything in the store is 50 percent off. The next half price Saturday is July 31.
