A source close to the sitautions said that C.J Cron is close to signing with the Angels, who took him with the 17th overall pick June 6 in the MLB first-year player draft.
Cron, a junior at Utah, is a two-time All-American at Utah and a Mountain Pointe graduate.
He is expected to get somewhere between $1.4 to $1.6 million as a signing bonus.
UPDATE: Baseball America is reporting that Cron signed for $1.467 million.
