Ever since coming back the states as a two-time Olympic medalist, Will Claye has been trying to make his way back to Mountain Pointe for a clinic.

That time is now.

Claye will be part of Saturday’s 2014 Arizona Track and Field Coaches Clinic at Mountain Pointe.

“It means a lot to be able to give back and help out,” he said. “I would have loved to have something like this when I was in high school and I love to elevate the sport of track and field any way I can. It's a great opportunity.”

In addition to Claye (long and triple jump), Andreas Behm (hurdles), Jeff Messer (distance runners), Collin Post (throws), Dewayne Evans (sprints), Ray Davies (high jump), Jeff Guy (pole vault), Tim McClellan (strength and conditioning), Dr. Jim Afremow (sports psychology), Dr. Kevin Prichette (sports medicine) and Greg Hull (art of coaching) will speak on their specific area of expertise.

The program, which is supported by World Athletics Center, is for coaches and the event coordinator is Pride first-year coach Tim O’Neil.

Registration starts at 8:30 a.m. and the program runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The cost is $125 for an individual, $200 for two, $250 for three from the same program and $25 for each additional program.
