Oops.
That's all I can say.
The annual Ahwatukee Cup boys golf tournament was moved up a week and I didn't know about it so I didn't preview it, attend it, cover it or write about it.
So without further ado here are the results from Aug. 22-24:
Red Mountain won it with a three-day total of 340, while Desert Vista was second at 346. Host Mountain Pointe was third with a 363 while Desert Ridge (373) and Arcadia (416) rounded out the top five in the 12-team field.
Matt Liringis, Randy Ross, Colton Estevez, Sean Buchannan, and Cody McManus were the Thunder's top performers in the three-day Ryder Cup-style event.
Jake Britton, Brendan Wiberg, Josh Mendoza and Harden brothers, Max and Ben, preformed well for the Pride.
The preview for the boys and girls season will run in the paper on Wed., Sept. 7.
