The year in football just keeps getting better.
After Desert Vista won the Division I state title, their namesakes - The Thunder - at the youth level have advanced to the national finals in Florida.
The Thunder, which play in the Jr. Midget Division, won its first two games by the scores of 14-6 and 36-6 (semifinals) and will play the Rox Fox Ravens from the Big East region of the country in Thursday's final at 1 p.m. Arizona time.
The Thunder, which play in the in the Pee Wee Division, won its first two games by the score of 30-26 and 30-16 (semis) and will play the Southside Cowboys from the Southwest region in Thursday's final at 11 a.m.
The Wildcats, who play in the junior Pee Wee Division, won its first two games by the score of 19-12 and 14-7 (semifinals) will play the Parkside Warriors from the Atlantic region in Thursday's final at 9 a.m.
