DV tracksters perform well in Cali

The lone individual to claim any victories at the Arcadia Invitational in the two-day meet was Desert Vista's Edmund Baker, who jumped 6-feet-7 to win the open boys high jump competition on Saturday. By virtue of his victory, Baker earned a spot in the invitational high jump later on Saturday. He placed sixth in the invitational with a jump of 6-5.

Desert Vista had four athletes place in Friday's competition.

Aidan Foster was third in the boys pole vault, clearing 14-9.

Merritt Ten Hope was sixth in the pole vault at 10-7.

Sophomore Jarek Hilgers was 7th in the long jump at 21-11 ½.

Riley Pendergast was 4th in the shot put at 50-7 ¼.

In Saturday's highlights Desert Vista's Yasmine Yacut was third in the girls 800 in 2:14.85.

Desert Vista's Michael Ingrassia was sixth in the invitational 300 hurldes in 39.00

Desert Vista's Kadie McNamara won the open girls discus with a throw of 133-11 and then threw in the invitational portion and threw a personal best of 134-7.
