One of the anecdotes I was unable to get into the draft story from Monday came from BAR Fitness owner Brad Rogers.

He has trained the Cron boys for years at his facility with his fitness background and catching experience (played at Texas Christian) so he has seen them grow into their 6-foot-4-ish, 240-pound-ish bodies.

Rogers recalled running a catcher's camp about six years ago when C.J. and some other area athletes were the main participants.

But Kevin, three years younger than C.J., also participated. He was about 12 years old and close to 200 pounds.

"I remember half-joking with him that he was one of the worst catchers I had ever seen," Rogers laughed. "He was all over the place and here we are now and he is one of the best high school players Arizona has ever seen and he is about to get drafted.

"I guess I was a little hard on him."

Kevin ended up being drafted in the third round Tuesday with the 92nd overall pick, but chances are - unless the money is right - he will head to Rogers old stomping grounds of TCU.

"He couldn't have picked a better place," Rogers said.
